2026年1月30日、「米国市場進出における会社設立・IP戦略・資金調達の実務ポイント」をテーマとしたイベントを開催しました。 イベントでは、米国の老舗法律事務所（1901年創業）パートナー弁護士であり、スタートアップおよび知的財産分野を専門とする Catherine Liyun Zhang 氏が登壇しました。
講演では、米国進出を目指すスタートアップにとって重要となる 会社設立（C-Corp／デラウェア州）、知的財産（IP）戦略、資金調達の考え方について、実務事例を交えながら解説が行われました。 特に、IPを設立初期から正しく整備する重要性や、日本から米国への特許出願における注意点が強調されました。
質疑応答では、 創業者間契約のポイント、特許出願ルートの選び方、SAFEを用いた資金調達の実務などについて多くの質問が寄せられ、参加者の関心の高さがうかがえました。

During the talk, Ms. Zhang covered key practical topics for startups entering the U.S. market, including company formation (C-Corp and Delaware structures), intellectual property strategy, and fundraising approaches. She particularly emphasized the importance of properly structuring IP from the earliest stages and highlighted practical considerations for filing U.S. patents from Japan.
In the Q&A session, participants raised questions on topics such as founder agreements, patent filing strategies, and the use of SAFE for early-stage fundraising, leading to an active and engaging discussion.
